A Govt that brazenly sides with separatists, terrorists
Guru & Yasin

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 16: Can any duly-elected Government in any country of the world side with separatists and fundamentalists? No Government in any country of the world will do that as it is constitutionally, morally, politically, emotionally and ideologically committed to defend the State at whatever cost, including decimation of anti-State elements. But here in Jammu and Kashmir State we have a Government which abuses the constitutional authority vested in it by the Indian statute book and brazenly sides with murderers like Yasin Malik, currently on an anti-India visit to Pakistan where he is hobnobbing and sharing dais with dreaded terrorists like LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, undoubtedly a part of the Pakistani civil and military establishments, and speaking the language which the likes of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have been speaking in the wake of lawful hanging of Afzal Guru, convicted long ago in the Parliament terror attack case, and asking the Union Government to return the Guru's body to his family.
It is none other than the NC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister (executive head of the State), who is indulging in activities which are not permitted both by the Indian Constitution and the State Constitution. He is not only demanding the Guru's body for his family, but he is also asking the Union Government not to arrest Yasin as and when he lands at the Delhi airport after completing his anti-India tour. The entire nation, barring radical Islamists, fake secularists and separatists, has welcomed the hanging of Guru and entire nation wants New Delhi to act against Yasin, who used Indian passport to damage India while in Pakistan. But the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister is doing just the opposite telling New Delhi that he doesn't care for it and the national mood and that his only duty as Chief Minister is only to pander to the separatist and fundamentalist constituency in the Valley which hates India from the core of its heart and wishes to establish theocratic rule in collaboration with Pakistan or by allowing Pakistan to merge the State with it. How else should one interpret his stands on Guru and Yasin -- enemies of India and humanity.
By speaking the language the Chief Minister has been speaking from February 10 onwards he is directly and indirectly pandering to separatists and fundamentalists, leave aside his earlier highly questionable stand on the Army, AFSPA, Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi. But he is only speaking what he and his Kashmir-based party, which today cannot be termed as even a party of Kashmir valley, actually believe in. Ever since, its inception, the NC has been doing what Omar Abdullah has been doing ever since his sudden and unexpected elevation to the top executive post in the State. (He leads a party which has just 28 members in the 87-member House.)
But the main culprit is the Congress party which has given unbridled authority to the Chief Minister to do whatever he wants to do to communalise the Kashmir situation and directly and indirectly help the regressive forces in the Valley to force down the throat of the people their pernicious ideology. It is the Congress party which is the mother of all ills; it says it believes in democracy and secularism but actually it willfully promotes communalism, subverts democratic principles, and even promotes separatism.
The worst part of the whole situation is that the Constitutional head of the State is watching these subversive activities as a mute spectator. It is the first time when the Constitutional head of the State has been behaving like the incumbent Constitutional head is behaving. Earlier, the State was fortunate to have constitutional head in the persons of LK Jha, BK Nehru, Gen KV Krishna Rao, G Saxena, Jagmohan and Gen SK Sinha who always put their foot down when they felt that things were going out of control.
All in all, it can be said that there are elements in the Delhi-based political establishment that controls everything who, it appears, are hand-in-glove with those in Kashmir who hate India and the Indian civilization and Indian culture.
