Jammu, Feb 16: Demanding Schedule Tribe (ST) status to Pahari community, National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) has submitted a memorandum of their demand to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh through District Development Commissioner Poonch. A deputation of NPSU members under the chairmanship of its state general secretary Syed Zeshan met DDC Poonch, Ajeet Kumar Sahu and apprised him about various problems being faced by the masses of Peer Panjaal range. While briefing the DDC, Alyas Khawaja said that it was very unfortunate that the Pahari Community was in search of equality and justice since last two decades, but it was very unfortunate that ST status was not provided to them. |
