| RM College celebrates women's day | | | et plus report
Jammu, Mar 7: International women's day was celebrated RM College in collaboration with centre for women's Studies University of Jammu, here today. According to press release, one day programme on "Women Empowerment" to mark the international women's day on 7th of March was organized in the premises RM College. Dr Ponam Dhawan, Director Centre for Women's Studies was the chief guest, while Anita Sharma Commandant IRP 15th BN. Presided over the function. The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by welcome address by Trustee of the college Rita Mengi Ji. Dr Pryanka Katoch and Dr Saranjit Kour from the centre for women's studies were also present on this occasion. Attraction of the day was the play, "Barsaat Ke Wo Tees Din" staged by the Nav Durga Kala Manch. The play is based on girl child sex abuse. The play showed how children can be exploited by their own immediate relations and what repercussions this abuse has on their psyche. Chief Guest in her speech appreciated the college management for organizing such programmes for the benefit of the society in general and women folk in particular. A video clip prepared by the Abisheik Jha and Guneek Gupta both students of R M College of education, was also witnessed by the audience. Expressing his views on the programme, Chairman of the College Rameshwar Mengi appreciated the role of artists in the play and students of college for preparing wonderful video clip on women empowerment. He stressed on the inculcation of moral and ethical values among the students for the better future. Memtoes were also given away to the participants by dignitaries. Staff, faculty members and students also witnessed the whole programme and vote of thanks was presented by principal of the college P K Dhar.
