| Congress disagree with Soz's AFSA remarks | | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 7: With JKPCC Chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz having joined the chorus for withdrawal of AFSPA, the Congress feels embarrassed. Like Omar, Soz also wants to woo the voters by demanding repeal of the law but it ended ina fiasco. The Congress party has distanced itself from Soz's demand.
They have stood by the central leadership which believes the people engaged in Valley believe time was not ripe for lifting of the law. Soz found no supporters. Even the BJP which and supported Omar on the issue a few days ago have accused him of being irresponsible.
BJP spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain said, "It is because of AFSPA that the Valley has a semblance of peace and safety from the intruders. The BJP is against any move to repeal AFSPA." |
