| NMC urges CM to amend SRO | | | Et Plus report
Jammu, Mar 7 : President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri urged upon the Chief Minister to amend SRO 64 and formulate a policy for regularization of all dally wagers, casual labour engaged in various Government departments after March 1994. Addressing a NMC workers rally at Kanjali today, Shastri said that such an amendment in the SRO should be effected before March so that the new regularization policy becomes operational from next financial year. Referring to the State Budget presented in the legislature yesterday, Shastri pleaded that Government should announce hike in medical allowance from Rs.300 to Rs1000 per month, increasing wages of daily wagers to Rs. 10 thousands per month. In regards to pay anomalies of clerical cadre, Shastri stressed for taking immediate decision to resolve the long pending demands of clerical and other concerned cadre. He hoped that while replying discussion on the budgetary proposals in both houses, the Finance Minister sympathetically considered the demands of the Salaried class and make announcement to resolve these on priority basic. Rajan Babu Khajuria, ShamLal Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Karan Singh, Doulat Ram and leaders of NMC addressed the rally. |
