| Govt proposes to replace 9 m poles with higher 11m on Sangam-Khiram line: Vikar | | | JAMMU: Minister of State for Power Mr. Vikar Rasool while replying to a Calling Attention Notice By Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri in the Legislative Assembly today said that the 33 KV Sangam-Khiram line is a 14 Km long tap-line on 33 KV Sangam feeder emanating from Grid Station, Awantipora which feeds Receiving Station, Khiram and tap-line of Lift Irrigation Station at Duripora and Sirhama. The Minister said the line has been constructed and commissioned in 2002 on 9 mts long ST/PCC poles as per parameters of the scheme. He said that the tap-line passes through some apple orchards at Marhama, Shallgam and Sirhama. He said there was sufficient clearance between the line and the apple trees at the time of construction and commissioning of this line, adding that due to growth of the trees during the past 11 years, the clearance of the 33 KV conductor has got reduced and as such the apple orchard owners and cultivators feel scared during the periods of dormant oil spray. Mr. Vikar said that the government has prepared a proposal to replace 150 numbers of poles of 9 m /PCC frames by 11 m high poles to redress the problem for which the Detailed Project Report has been formulated. |
