Ganderbal: The J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) organised an Awareness Camp on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme at Industrial Training Institute, Ganderbal here today. Among others educated unemployed youth, general public, Bank Officers, representative of State KVIC Office, Srinagar and District Officials of KVIB, Ganderbal participated in the awareness camp. Deputy Chief Executive Officer KVIB, Abdul Latif Masudi informed about the various schemes being introduced with loan facility upto Rs. 25 lakh with 35 percent subsidy. He said the aim of the awareness camp was to promote self employment ventures by making awareness amongst the people in general and technical youth in particular about centrally sponsored schemes launched by Government of India in District Ganderbal so as to generate a lasting solution to resolve the unemployment problem to a considerable extent. He further disclosed that KVIB has provided Rs.28 lakh on account of subsidy to 16 unit holders, generating employment opportunities to 130 persons against the target of Rs.19.50 lakh. During the year 2012-13, 25 cases have been so far sanctioned involving margin money of Rs. 20.23 lakh. Representatives of Lead District Manager, J&K Bank, KVIC and Principal ITI also spoke on the occasion and stressed the need for self employment ventures to boost local talent.
