5000 promotion made in Edu Deptt, 7000 vacancies referred to PSC, SSRB: Dy CM

JAMMU, Mar 25: The Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today informed the House that 5000 promotions have been made in Gazetted and Non-Gazetted cadre in Education Department recently and 7000 posts have been referred to SSRB and Public service Commission to provide adequate teaching staff to educational institutions across the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister was replying to a question by Mr. Lal Chand. He said that all the officials with longer stay in the Directorates of School Education in Kashmir and Jammu have been transferred recently.
Rs. 200 cr worth 48 tourism projects sanctioned for Jammu: Mir
Minister for Tourism Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir today informed the House that 48 projects worth Rs. 200 crore have been sanctioned for the development of tourist infrastructure in Jammu region.
Replying to a question by Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, the Minister said that Government has given focused attention to Jammu region by way of creating tourism infrastructure and setting up of 7 Tourism Development Authorities. These include Bhardawah, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Patnitop, Surinsar-Mansar and Lakanpur-Sarthal.
The Minister further said under Border Area Tourism Circuit, Suchetgarh Jammu has been sanctioned by Union Ministry of Tourism at a cost of Rs. 6.39 crore. He said an amount of Rs. 5.11 crore has been released and utilized for the execution of the project.
With regard to Bishnah Constituency, the Minister said the works costing Rs. 97.80 lakh have been taken up for execution and funds to the extent of Rs. 78.24 lakh have been released.
The Minister said that eco-tourism project has been taken up by Forest Department to create way side amenities along Mughal road particularly at Peer ki Gali and Drubjan.

45 road projects for Khan Sahib: Wani
Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani today informed the House that 45 roads projects have been taken up in Khan Sahib Constituency under various schemes.
Replying to a question by Hakim Mohammad Yasin, the Minister said that the project of construction of Shamasabad Parniva road at a cost of Rs. 3.89 crore has been approved under NABARD RIDF-XVIII out of which Rs. 1.05 crore has been released and the work stands tendered. He further said that the bridge over Shaliganga Nallah on Drugger Hill has been taken under State sector at a cost of Rs. 7.51 crore during 2012-13 against which Rs, 15 lakh have been released.
Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. Bharat Bushan and Mr. Javid Ahmed Dar raised supplementaries on the question.
Replying to another question by Mr. Charanjeet Singh, the Minister said that the road projects costing Rs. 16.39 crore have been prepared for improvement, up-gradation of road from Palli More to Narote Jaimal Singh of Punjab State connecting Pathankote-Amritsar Highway at Dina Nagar to 2-lane specification under interstate connectivity. He said that the matter has been taken with the Union Ministry of Surface Transport and Highways for sanction and release of funds.
Replying to another question by Peer Afaq Ahmed, the Minister said that 0.5 km of road length from Bagh Ali Mardan Khan to Akmal Bridge has been constructed.
Rs. 8.25 cr Harwan ISM Hospital; 15 kanals requisitioned: Shabir
Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan said that for setting up of new ISM Hospital at a cost of Rs. 8.25 crore at Harwan, 15 kanals of land have been requisitioned.
Replying to a question by Mohammad Yaseen Shah, the Minister said that as soon as the requisite land is transferred to the ISM Department, the construction work of the said hospital would be started.
