JAMMU: Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal, sanctioned Rs. 15.36 lakh as scholarship for the sportspersons who participated in the 58th National Schools Games in various sports disciplines within and outside the State during the year 2012-13. The scholarship will be distributed among 613 players drawn from across the State of Jammu and Kashmir, including 84 medalists with 31 gold, 18 silver and 35 bronze. The gold medailists will get Rs. 10,000 per head, while the silver and bronze medalists will be receiving an among of Rs. 7,000 and 5,000 per head respectively. For mere participation in National Schools Games, the players will get an amount of Rs. 1750 per head. As per the breakup, Srinagar will receive an amount of Rs. 2,16,750 as scholarship, Ganderbal Rs. 20,750, Anantnag Rs.70, 750, Budgam Rs. 18,500, Shopian Rs.19,000, Baramulla Rs.67,250, Kulgam Rs.10,500, while Jammu will get Rs. 5,96, 750, Samba Rs.36,500, Kathua Rs.21,000, Ramban Rs.1750, Kishtwar Rs.35,250, Reasi Rs.68,750, Udhampur Rs.50,750, Doda Rs.60, 750, Rajouri Rs.11, 750 and Poonch Rs.42,000. Director General Youth Services and sports said that every step will be taken with regard to promotion of sports and games in the State. |
