| 315 IGUs established at Kupwara, Bandipora | | | KUPWARA: The Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Kupwara has established 127 Income Generating Units (IGUs) during previous 2 years in Kupwara district. For this purpose the financial institutions have provided an amount of Rs. 4.26 crore among the 881 educated unemployed youth of the district. While the KVIB has provided subsidy component of Rs. 1.50 crore as 35 percent share. This was stated by the District Officer, KVIB Kupwara, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Chowdhary during the awareness camp organized by the KVIB Kupwara at Environmental Hall, Handwara. Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Kupwara participated as chief guest on the occasion while the representatives of Banks, KVIB and Industries besides beneficiaries participated. It was also given out that 100 educated unemployed youth are being provided financial assistance for setting up their own income generating units during next financial year. The General Manager, District Industries Centre, Kupwara also shared his experiences at the camp. Meanwhile, financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 6.14 crores have been advanced to establish 181 Income Generating Units (IGUs) under Khadi Village Industries Board (KVIB) in Bandipora. For this purpose, a subsidy component of Rs. 2.26 crore was provided to the unit holders. This was stated during an awareness camp organized by the KVIB at Industrial Training Institute, Bandipora today. Speakers on this occasion educated the participants regarding the activities and achievements besides various schemes of the Board. Among others, District Officer KVIB, Bandipora, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Lead Bank Officer, Bandipora and other people including unemployed youth were present in the awareness camp. |
