Govt committed for all round development of rural belts: Dy CM

JAMMU, Apr 6 : Underlining commitment of the government for all round development of rural belts, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand said that addressing development needs of those living in far-flung and remote areas is endeavor of the government and work on the road map to develop these areas on modern lines is underway at fast pace. He said exemplary initiatives have been taken to address the development aspirations of the people living in these belts. Mr. Tara Chand today had an extensive tour of the Pargwal area and inspected various ongoing development works in the belt.
While inspecting the pace and progress of model village project, the Deputy Chief Minister said special package of Rs. 11.75 crore has been announced for the model village and no delay would be tolerated in the prestigious project. He said work schedule should be so adjusted that works get completed within the stipulated time frame.
“All those involved in the model village project should gear up their efforts and complete the works on time , so as to fully utilize the funds made available for this prestigious project,” he added.
He directed the executing agencies to use quality material and ensure that specifications are followed in totality.
Mr. Tara Chand called upon Sarpanchs and Panchs to motivate youth of the area to derive maximum benefit from employment oriented schemes initiated by the government. He said flagship schemes like SKEWPY have ample scope to help youth in starting their own ventures and be master of their own destiny. These schemes promote entrepreneurship and help young force to look beyond the government sector for jobs, he added. Later, a number of delegations from the area met the Deputy Chief Minister and apprised him about various demands which mainly include, un-interrupted power supply, safe drinking water, road connectivity, benefits under various state and centrally sponsored government schemes, assurance for adequate water availability for irrigation purpose in coming summer season, etc. He gave a patient hearing to the demands and assured that all genuine issues would be taken up with concerned departments for early redressal
