| JK youth should search employment opportunities beyond the state: Union Minister | | 2 more Himayat centres to be opened in Sopore, Baramulla | | SOPORE, Apr 6 : Union Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Jairam Ramesh Saturday called upon J&K youth to expand their domain for searching employment opportunities beyond the territory of J&K, adding all educated unemployed youth cannot be absorbed in the State. He said we have made a target of providing skill development training to one lakh youth and absorb them in different employment oriented institutions in the country. The Union Minister was addressing a function after distributing certificates among meritorious youth who were trained in different skills at Himayat Training Centre, Bhoripora in apple town Sopore in North Kashmir. He said the Training Centres have got momentum and good response in Sopore and other parts of North Kashmir. Mr. Ramesh said that he has himself inaugurated the Himayat Centre six months ago and it is a good Oman that he himself distributed certificates of excellence among meritorious youth. He said 90 school dropouts, who were feeling that there was no way of earning their livelihood, have been registered in the first batch in October 2012 and have been imparted training in different skills during six months course. He said 70 out of 90 have been absorbed in various Institutions which include 49 girls are earning their livelihood. The Union Minister announced that two more Himayat Centres shall soon be established in Sopore and Baramulla towns where special attention is taken for the orphans who are living in the orphanages. Mr. Ramesh said that a positive development has come to fore that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who had remained out of the state during the turmoil have initiated new trends of business in the State for their sustenance. He advised the youth to give up the lackadaisical approach and develop the work culture and dedication. He said that the other states of the country have got lead in development while as Kashmir lost 25 years of development. He said it is high time that Kashmiris should change their approach for development and prosperity, adding the key of which is lying with them. The Union Secretaries of Rural Development Departments, Commissioner/Secretary Rural Development J&K Govt, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and others also spoke on the occasion. Among others, DIG Baramulla North Range, Director Rural Development Kashmir, SSP Sopore and other district officers besides Panchs and Sarpanchs were also present on the occasion. |
