| Commencement of Plantation Drive at New District Court Complex, Mominabad, Bemina Srinagar | | | SRINAGAR: The Chief Justice High Court of J&K Mr. Justice, M. M. Kumar accompanied by Judges of the High Court of J&K, Mr. Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Mr. Justice Hasnain Massodi, Mr. Justice Ali Mohammad Magray and Mr. Justice Janak Raj Kotwal commenced plantation drive at New District Court Complex coming up at Mominabad, Bemina, Srinagar. The Chief Justice and the Judges of High Court planted Deodar trees in the premises of New District Court Complex which initiates the project launched by District Judiciary in collaboration with Urban Forestry Division Srinagar Department of Forest. While interacting with the dignitaries, officials and functionaries working on the project, the Chief Justice directed the concerned to plant sufficient number of trees to ensure the greenery in and around the New District Court Complex which is likely to start functioning in this year only. Those present on the occasion included Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Khan, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Conservator Forests, Mr. Nisar Ahmed, DFO Srinagar, Syed Abid Nazir, Manager JKPCC, Mr. Showkat Ahmed Reshi, Superintending Engineer R&B Circle Budgam & Srinagar, Mr. Satish Razdan, Executive Engineer R&B, Mr. Sami Arif, Executive Engineer, R&B Electric Division, Mr. Bashir Ahmed and Executive Engineer Mechanical Central Heating System, Mr. Shafat Ahmad. The Chief Justice also took stock of the developmental works under way in the New District Court Complex. It was informed by Superintending Engineer, R&B Circle Budgam & Srinagar, Mr. Satish Razdan that first phase of the project as approved by Law Department would be completed by the end of the September 2013 and the premises would be ready for functioning of the courts from the New Court Complex. Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar also ensured timely completion of the project and also undertook to personally monitor the further progress of developmental activities in the complex. It was impressed upon all the agencies working at the project by the Chief Justice to make arrangements for working in double shift, so that the project would be completed within stipulated period. District Court Complex at Srinagar is facing too much of congestion and it is becoming difficult for the litigants as well as the lawyers to cope up with the pressure of such congestion. The Chief Justice accompanied by Judges of High Court and the officials of district administration, executing agencies of the project also visited State Judicial Academy within the premises of New District Court Complex. The authorities of JKPCC informed the Chief Justice that the project of State Judicial Academy is almost complete and shall be ready in a short time to be handed over to the High Court for commencement of the functioning of Academy from the new complex. |
