Bhalla dedicates Rs. 80 lakh community hall to Kashyap biradari
‘Launches 55 lakh dev works at Nanak Nagar, Channi Rama’

JAMMU: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla on Sunday dedicated Rs. 80 lakh multipurpose community hall to Kashyap Biradari at Ramlila Chowk, Nai Basti.
Executive Engineer, R&B Mr. D K Rampal, representatives of Kashyap Biradari besides officers of PHE, R&B, PDD, JMC and people in large number were present on the occasion.
The 3-storey Hall has been constructed on the slab area of 4800 sq ft with the facilities of kitchen, marriage halls and toilet blocks.
Mr. Bhalla said that Government is making all out efforts to upgrade the living standard of the poor lot of the society across the State, adding that in this regard balanced development in every area has been initiated to provide basic amenities to the people
Mr. Bhalla said Government has also dedicated Rs. 9 crore multipurpose community halls at Bahu Fort, Govindpura Kullian, Barzalla, Gorkha Nagar, Shree Rabi Dass Biradari, Channi Rama, Malik market, Raipura Satwari, Gangyal, Babliana for the convenience of the people so that they can arrange their functions in these halls on minimum charges.
The Minister called upon people to avail benefits under Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme under which Rs. 3.12 lakh are provided for construction of pacca houses. He called upon them to approach JMC authorities and fulfill the codal formalities to avail the relief under BSUP. He said under BSUP the beneficiary would get Rs 3.12 lakh in three installments. He asked the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously for construction of pacca houses.
Earlier at Nanak Nagar Sec-14 W. No. 44, Mr. Bhalla laid foundation stone for construction of lanes and drains including grating facilities besides construction of toilet complex near Gurudwara, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 40 lakh. He asked the executing agency (JMC) to complete the works within stipulated time frame.
At Malik Market in Channi Rama near Eidgah, the Minister kick started development work of pathway, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 8 lakh.
At Satya Colony in Channi Rama, Mr. Bhalla laid foundation stone for upgradation of lanes and drains, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 7 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the projects within prescribed time frame by using quality material.
Interacting with the people, the Minister said that the coalition Government is committed for balanced development of all the three regions of the State, adding that a massive developmental programme has been launched to develop all its every nook and corner on modern lines.
Mr. Bhalla said that on the endeavors of coalition Government in the State, the UPA Government has provided liberal funding under various sectors for developing the State as a model state. He said that Government is committed to provide better road connectivity, safe drinking water, healthcare, education and electricity across the State.
The Minister said that public cooperation is imperative for development and called upon the people to protect public property. He said that Government is fully aware of the aspirations of the people and is making all out efforts to address them in a phased manner.
