| Manohar convenes public meeting at Sharad Mahadev in Billawar | | | KATHUA: Minister of State for Fisheries and Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma convened a public meeting in Sharad Mahadev of tehsil Billawar , Kathua . Superintendent Engineer PDD, XEN’s of PWD & PHE, AEE Irrigation, Flood Control, Tehsildar Billawar and other district and tehsil level officers, panchs , sarpanchs and a large number of people were present on the occasion. Panches & Sarpanches of Thaintu, Bharota, Nota, Gurha Kalyal projected the demand to develop infrastructural and logistic facilities in the historic Sharad Mahadev Mandir area for the convenience of the the pilgrims While speaking on the occasion Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that Billawar tehsil is blessed with prominent places of religious and spiritual importance which has helped to inculcate a spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood among the people of diverse faith and religions. He said Billawar is emerging as an important destination on the Religious Tourist Circuit as inflow of the pilgrims at famous shrines of Sukrala Mata ji, Mata Bala Sundri ji, Khijar Khwaja Jal Peer ji, historical Shiva Mandir at Billawar is increasing manifold every year . He said taking this into consideration the Government has constituted a shrine board for Sukrala Mata and Mata Bala Sundri to ensure all basic facilities including accommodation to pilgrims. Dr. Manohar lal Sharma passed directions to the field functionaries of Tourism department to chart out a plan to take up the works like park, high mast lights and other utilities to facilitate pilgrims in Sharad Mahadev Shrine. He directed the flood control department to make a plan for Check- Dam for the area and directed PWD department to construct approach road of the Shrad Mahadev Shrine area. Other demands and problems highlighted by the representatives includes pending MGNREGA payments of job card holders of Bharota panchayat, shortage of school staff. Whereas Sarpanch Gurha Kalyal demanded corrections of revenue entries in settlement cases and pending Roshni Act cases. The minister passed immediate instructions to the concerned departments to redress the issues on priority. |
