kulgam, Apr 25: Stressing on formulation of pragmatic plans, Deputy Commissioner, Jahangir Mir Thursday asked the sectoral officers to focus on formulation of plans based on immediate developmental needs of general public. Execution of spill over schemes should be prioritized, he added. Chairing a review meeting of district / sectoral officers here this afternoon, the Deputy Commissioner brought home the importance of adhering to the guidelines of Planning department with regard to ensuring 25% expenditure in each quarter of financial year. He said, “making expenditure equitably throughout the year ensures transparency and balanced development.” The Deputy Commissioner called for drawing up separate convergence plan where works relating to projects of some departments could be dovetailed with Rural Development Department for faster development and economic growth. He said, in this regard some projects of Education, Minor Irrigation & other departments could be conveniently & timely executed, asking the concerned officers to work out such plans within a week. The Deputy Commissioner asked the Power Development department to expedite repairing of damaged transformers & strengthen measures to prevent frequent damage to the transformers. He said surveillance on the part of field functionaries of the department is needed to check the incidence of damages to transformers. The meeting had a detailed deliberation on the achievements of last year’s plan. It was given out that the plan stands utilized nearly in full. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to intimate action taken reports regarding decisions of District Development Board meetings of last three years within 2 days so that the bottlenecks, if any, could be removed on time. Among others, Superintending Engineer PWD, Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioners Revenue & Rural Development Departments, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers and sectoral heads of all departments attended the meeting. |
