| CS reviews status of dev projects, implementation of schemes in Udhampur | | Distt records 99% expenditure against Annual Plan 2012-13 | | UDHAMPUR, Apr 30 : The Chief Secretary Mr Iqbal Khandey today reviewed the physical and financial achievements recorded against various sectors, besides status of implementation of state and central schemes in Udhampur district. During a daylong meeting, the Chief Secretary took detailed review of achievements under each department and the flagship schemes like MGNREGA, NRHM, Rural and Urban Development schemes, besides projects taken up under Core sectors. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Mr Pardeep Gupta was also present in the meeting attended by divisional level heads of key departments and functionaries from the district administration. District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Ms Yasha Mudgal through a power point presentation, gave a resume of ongoing developmental activities and projects completed in the district during the last fiscal. The meeting was told that against the last year’s annual plan outlay of Rs 7227.41 lakh, an expenditure of Rs 7184.43 lakh was recorded which works out to be 99.41 percent The meeting held a detailed discussion on sectors having the potential to accelerate economic development and employment generation. Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Secretary stressed on to lay focus on market intervention schemes in agriculture and its allied sectors. He called for taping the huge employment potential in the traditional rural trades through introduction of modern techniques. Chief Engineer, PWD, Mr. Tehsin Mustafa, Chief Engineer, PDD, Shenaz Goni, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range, Mr. Gareeb Dass, Director Health Services, Mrs. Madhu Khular, Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting. The meeting was informed that Rs. 554.68 lakhs were expended on the up-gradation of health care services against the provision of Rs. 554.68 lakh kept under the sector for 2012-13 Annual Plan. The meeting was further told that under Education sector Rs 3112.60 lakhs were expended against the available funds of Rs 3095.10 lakhs. It was further made out that about 138 habitations were connected in the district under III and IV phase of PMGSY. Chief Secretary instructed on ensuring timeline completion of the projects. He directed R&B functionaries to make additional efforts to complete vital road projects including Udhampur to Basantgarh and Udhampur to Dudu. |
