| DDC Anantnag reviews Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements | | | Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, Apr 30 : District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today reviewed the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2013 in a high level meeting of at Town Hall Pahalgam. Among others, officers from civil, Police and security agencies participated in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held pertaining to establishment of medical camps, sanitation, availability of essentials, traffic management plan, drinking water facilities, telecommunication, repairs of roads enroute to Holy Cave.
It was given out in the meeting that Health Centres shall be set up after every two kilometres enroute to Holy Cave so that better medicare facilities be made available to the Yatris.
Regarding the Telecommunication facilities, special Public Call Offices shall be established at Mir Bazar, Nunwan, Pahalgam, Chandanwari, Sheeshnag and Panjtarani halting stations besides mobile connectivity shall be made available throughout the route leading to Holy Cave.
District Development Commissioner inspected the concerned officers to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the towns at camping sites besides enroute to Holy Cave. He also directed for directed for installing sighn boards regarding Yatra 2013 at different locations for facilitating the yatris and also asked the concerned officers to upload information regarding different utilities on the website of the district administration. Dr. Lone also directed the officers of JKTDC to ensure adequate accommodation for the employees deployed for Yatra 2013 well before the commencement of the Yatra. He also directed for repairs and macadamization of roads enroute to the Holy Cave.
DDC stressed upon the officers to put in arrangements in advance and ensure coordination among the officers for smooth conduct of the Yatra.
Later, DDC visited Chandanwari to take on spot inspection of the track clearance besides visited Nunwan base camp to review the progress of arrangements being put in. |
