DDC Kupwara reviews the pace of developmental works at Karnah

TANGDHAR: District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Mr. Itrat Hussain Rafique visited Tangdhar and reviewed the pace of developmental works in an officers meeting held here today. MLA, Karnah, who is also Chairman of Pahari Advisory Board, Mr. Kafil-ur-Rehman and District Officers were also present in the meeting.
While reviewing the development activities in Karnah Sub-Division, the District Development Commissioner was informed that under R&B Sector 82.75 kilometres of road length under PMGSY, 11.70 kilometres and under Beacon Sector, 31.67 kilometres while under NABARD Sector, 4 road projects and 2 bridges are under construction at a total cost of Rs. 9.93 crore, while as under District Plan 13 road projects, under State Sector 7 road projects and one bridge are under construction in Karnah.
Mr. Rafique was also informed in the meeting that Industrial Training Institute in Karnah is under construction at a cost of Rs. 5.96 crore besides the Reception Centre at Teetwal is under construction with a cost of Rs. 62.57 lakhs.
While reviewing the developmental works under Education Sector in Karnah, theDistrict Development Commissioner was apprised that under RMSA and SSA schemes Rs. 2.34 crore are being utilized on the construction of 25 school buildings of which 8 school buildings were completed so far and handed over to the Education Department.
District Development Commissioner was also apprised that under MG NREGA Rs. 8.23 crore were utilized on the completion of 1206 developmental works in Karnah Sub-Division and 3.50 lakh mandays were created. In the meeting, it was also intimated that under IAY 508 houses were completed at a cost of Rs. 99.63 lakh and under PHE Sector 40,000 souls of the area were provided potable drinking water facilities besides 73 education institutions of Karnah were made available the drinking water facilities.
The District Development Commissioner stressed upon the concerned agencies to work with zeal and dedication so that the people would be benefitted by implementation of welfare and developmental schemes.
