KULGAM: Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo on Thursday inaugurated a Fire Service & Emergency station at Manzgam, constructed a cost of Rs. 64.31 lakh. Addressing a large gathering, the Minister said that the present coalition Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah is very much committed for the development of state particularly the remote areas and in this connection number of long pending demands of the people have already been met by this Government during last four years. She said that the Government have prioritized some sectors like education, healthcare, PHE, better road connectivity so that the people may get these facilities at their door steps. She said scores of colleges have been opened in the nook and corner of the State, while hundreds of the schools have been upgraded for providing quality education to students . However, the Minister cautioned the people to remain vigilant about those elements who by their false propaganda and nefarious designs want to disrupt peace and prosperity. Later, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs. 8.25 lakh among 82 beneficiaries for construction of low cost toilets. The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad Mir, Director General Fire & Emergency Services, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, Director Social Welfare, Mr. Farooq Ahmad, SP Kulgam and other district officers. |
