| Govt formulates new Master Plan for every pockets of State: Bhalla | | ‘Inaugurates bathing ghat at Bahu Fort, Kick starts blacktopping work at Raipur Satwari’ | |

JAMMU, May 19: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that objective of the Government to develop every corner of the State with improved basic amenities, adding that in this connection Government has prepared a revised Master Plan of urban pockets in view of increase of population and area.
This was state by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after inaugurating bathing ghat at Pacca Talab in Bahu Fort, here today.
Mr. Bhalla said that ‘it is the duty of the Government to provide basic amenities like adequate drinking water, road connectivity, education, power, health besides better lanes and drains in every newly developed as well as already established colonies.
The Minister said that peace is the vital for making J&K a model State of the country, adding that people's cooperation is imperative for the Government to make the State a prosperous one. He called upon the people not to heed on nefarious designs whoever wants to use
innocent for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State. He asked them to give their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for bringing forward the tempo of development in the State.
Responding to the demand of locals, Mr. Bhalla said that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.5 crore for improvement and laying of water supply pipes in the uncovered areas of the Bahu Fort, adding that the project can be started after completing tendering formalities. He said the government is also mulling to establish a new Water Supply Scheme in Bahu Fort, adding that every household would get adequate water supply by thee commissioning of this scheme.
The Minister informed that Government has provided Rs. 3.12 lakh under Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) for construction of pacca houses for the poor State Subject beneficiaries. He called upon the left out beneficiaries of Bahu Fort area to complete the formalities and avail benefits of BSUP scheme. He said Government has already distributed worth Rs. 3 crore under BSUP to the State Subject beneficiaries of the Bahu Fort area.
Regarding regularization of unauthorized colonies of the State, Mr. Bhalla further said that Housing Department has already constituted a High Level Committee for this purpose, adding that after survey and fixation of colony-wise fee by the members, the areas can be regularized under norms.
The Minister informed that Government has also earmarked Rs. 10.22 lakh for development and extension of Bagh-e-Bahu recreational garden in 35 kanals of available site. He said that the work on the projects is under progress under the supervision of Floriculture Department and would be completed with the facilities of landscaping, illumination, musical fountain, walkway, irrigation, beside construction of gate plaza there for the convenience of lakhs of tourists visited the spots every year from across the country.
Mr. Bhalla said 5-D theatre facilities proposal at par with fun city recreational garden at Chandigarh is also under process in Floriculture Department. He said after submission of estimates and design, the facility would be provided to the city of temples at Bagh-e-Bahu as well as tourists and pilgrims. He said Government is making all out efforts to increase all infrastructural facilities at Bagh-e-Bahu so that the visitors could enjoy the places without any problems.
Earlier, at Rahim Nagar in Narwal, the Minister also conducted a public redressal grievances camp where he listened the development related issues of the Rajiv Nagar and Rahim Nagar people.
Mr. Bhalla solved all the projected problems on the spot and left out referred to the concerned departments for early redressal. He said Government has spent Rs. 55 lakh for training the Karayani Talab-Rajiv Nagar nallah including construction of deep drain. He further said that Government has spent Rs. 50 lakh for construction of Rahim Nagar-Rajiv Nagar link road.
For improving the Drinking water facilities in Raika, Rahim Nagar and Rajiv Nagar, the Minister said Government has earmarked Rs. 4 crore for digging off deep drill tube and laying of water supply pipes in the uncovered areas of the localities. He said the project is under progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame.
Mr. Bhalla directed the PHE accompanied officers to provide special tanker service to the area during summer so that the people do not face any inconvenience due to this vital requirement.
Later, at Raipur Satwari, the Minister inaugurated mecademisation work on 3-kilometer long Raipur Satwari-Chandmari road, the project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh by R&B department.
Responding to the demand of locals, Mr. Bhalla asked the accompanied officers of R&B to prepare estimates for construction of bathing ghat for ladies and gents at the available site in Raipur Satwari and submit the same for funding for early start of the facilities for the benefit of general masses. |
