SRINAGAR: On the instructions of Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir Justice, M. M Kumar and Judge In-charge e-Court committee, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir, Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir, the e-Committee, High court of J&K today organized the second session on “Ubuntu Linux Awareness-Cum-Training Program under Change Management” for the Judicial officers of District Court Srinagar at High Court Complex, Srinagar. The Judicial Officers of District Court Srinagar were imparted training on use of Ubuntu Operating System customized by e-Committee, Supreme Court of India. The training was conducted by Master Trainers Principal District & Session Judge Baramulla Rashid Ali Dar and CJM, Ganderbal Parvaiz Kachroo. The key purpose of the Training Programme was to aware the Judicial Officers on the use of Ubuntu Operating System and other applications which are open source and can be easily installed and load quickly on any computer. This Operating System has low virus threat, very stable, secure and having an enormous free software library. It’s fast and it stays fast. One of the biggest advantages of Linux is its built-in driver set, or rather the ability of automatically downloading and installing them. This includes the drivers for webcam, Wi-Fi, Ethernet Card, even printer or scanner. Even installing third party software in Ubuntu is a lot simpler than in windows. Application like Ge-Speaker used for converting text to speech, Xournal is a PDF application used to edit PDF documents. Such programs will enhance the confidence of Judicial Officers in making use of ICT tools. The Judicial officers working in the field would get benefited from the training programs which will in turn help in making Speedy Justice delivery System. Director, J&K State Judicial Academy, Mr. Abdul Wahid was also present during training. Mr. Syed Zulfikar Incharge NIC, High Court of J&K at Srinagar and e-Court Technical Staff extended all the technical support in making the program successful. |
