SRINAGAR: Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Floriculture Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has said that the government is making all out efforts to bring the places of Kokernag having natural and picturesque beauty at tourist map by constructing tourism related infrastructure there. This was stated by the Minister, who was on a day-long tour of Kokernag Constituency, while addressing a series of public meeting there. Peerzada said that the area has huge tourism potential and would be brought on the tourist map. He stressed the need for exploiting this potential in better way. He said that the influx of tourists to the area would generate job avenues and improve economy of the locals as well. The Minister visited Dandipora, Desuward and other adjoining and took stock of the developmental works being executed under various sectors. He directed the executing agencies for accelerating the pace of works for ensuring their timely completion in view of favourable climatic conditions. Peerzada directed the concerned for developing the sagam park as all season park. Responding to the demands, the Minister said that demand for upgradation of local schools of Sagam would be looked into. En-route, a number of individuals and deputations also met the Minister and projected their demands related to water and power supply, construction of road links and lanes and drains. Among others, Director, Floriculture, Kashmir and other officers of line departments accompanied the Minister. |
