KATRA: The “42nd Annual Roun-Domail Kesari Vishal Dangal 2013”, a mega wrestling event of the State, was organized by Thill Roun-Domail Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Roun-Domail, Udhampur.
The event was held under the supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Numberdar Dharam Singh Ranyal (President of the Dangal Committee).
The first main bout (1st malli) was fought between wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla, Punjab and Wrestler Sunil Kumar of Harayana which was won by the former. He was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 21,000/- along with Patta while cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- was given to runner-up Wrestler Sunil Kumar. Besides, the 2nd main bout was won by wrestler Gourav Raina of Himachal Pardesh who defeated wrestler Benia of J&K Police of Basantgarh and given Rs. 20,000/- cash prize while Rs. 15,000/- was given to runner-up wrestler. The third bout was won by Sukha of Rajasthan who defeated Wrestler Somveer of Rohtak in Harayana and given Rs. 9,000/- as cash prize while runner up wrestler got Rs. 6,000/-. Likewise, the 4th bout was clinched by Sagar of Delhi who thrashed Atul of Rohtak while the 5th bout was won by Vikas of Khanna who defeated Yodha of Atri (Amritsar). The 6th bout was bagged by Sukha of Khanna who thrashed Ranjeet of Ludhiana. Forty bouts were played in a one day long wrestling competition.
Incharge SSP Udhampur Binam Tosh K.P.S was the chief guest on the occasion. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function while senior leaders of different political parties were the guests of honour. SHO, Udhampur, Deepak Jasrotia, Retd. SP P.R. Sharma, Distict Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association President, Virender Sharma and senior Vice President District Reasi Naresh Kumar (Pappu lakri) were also present on the occasion.

Nisar of Doda beat Pardeep of Harayana, Sujjan Ali of Domana beat Rashid of Ramnagar, Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Gurpreet of Rajasthan, Amir Khan of Nargada beat Neeraj of Una (H.P), Farooq of Sarore beat Rohit of Khanna, Ajay of Londan Power house beat Likat Ali of Panthal and Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal beat Ajay of Mallerkotla. |
