| DDC Anantnag reviews situation arisen due to inclement weather | | | ANANTNAG : District Development Commissioner, Anantnag took stock of the situation due to intermittent rains in a meeting of officers of Flood Control and Allied departments here today. It was given out in the meeting that the water level recorded last night at Sangam Bridge was 15.88 and today due to fair-weather, the level has came down below 14:00 and is expected to come down further due to improvement in the weather since morning. It was also revealed that all the necessary manpower and machinery has been kept on alert. However, so far there has been no damage of property being reported from any place of the district. District Development Commissioner, Anantnag directed the concerned officers to remain alert and vigilant in case of any untoward incident occurring because of lashing rains in the district. It was given out that the level of water at Sangam rose because of torrential rains last night, now the level is below danger mark. Meanwhile, a meeting regarding smooth traffic flow during the yatra was also conducted by District Development Commissioner Anantnag. The meeting was also attended by Transport Commissioner J&K Mr. Sanjive Verma. Various matters discussed in the meeting included smooth traffic flow in the town especially during the yatra period. The licensing pattern and jamming of traffic in the Anantnag township was also discussed threadbare. Besides others ADC Anantnag, ACR, Anantnag and Xen Flood Control were also present in the meeting. |
