Kishtwar police seize 74 vehicles for traffic violations

KISHTWAR, May 27 : As a part of drive against traffic violations, Kishtwar police in last three days have seized 74 vehicles for flouting various traffic norms including over speeding, over loading, driving without driving licenses and valid documents.
While divulging the details, Dy SP Headquarters Farooq Qaiser said that Kishtwar police constituted three teams headed by Sub Inspector level officers under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Thakur Kulbir Singh. The teams laid nakas at various places and seized 74 vehicles, mostly motorcycles for traffic violations. He said that nearly one dozen vehicles have also been seized for making their entries into restricted areas including Chowgan ground Kishtwar. He said that all the vehicles were challaned in court of law and will be released only after completion of all the legal formalities. He said that nearly 200 vehicles were challaned by the police in correspondence month so far. He said that drive against traffic violators will remain continue in coming days as well.
