Bhalla dedicates Rs 70 lakh building to GMS Channi Himmat students

JAMMU : Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that the Government was making all out efforts to make available better infrastructural facilities at all educational institutions across the state.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after dedicating newly constructed double storey school building to Government Middle School, (GMS) Channi Himmat students, here today.
Director School Education Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, Chief Education Officer Mr. Natha Ram Dingra, besides other senior officers of R&B, PDD, PHE and School Education were present on the occasion.
The 4000 sq ft slab area double storey building with 12 class room, office room, kitchen and toilet block has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 70 lakh.
The Minister asked the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to the students so that they would become good citizens and serve the country. He said teachers are the architects who shape the personality of the nation builders. He directed them to increase enrolment of students so that the institution can be upgraded under Rashtriya Madayamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA).
Mr. Bhalla stressed upon the teaching fraternity to inculcate moral values among the students side by side academic education. He said central Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was providing liberal funding to the state for making further improvement in the education standards. He said the latest in the series was the introduction of RAMSA which envisages up-gradation of infrastructural facilities in High and Higher secondary schools of the State.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the parents to send their wards in schools for better tomorrow. He said Government is making all out efforts to open new schools within the distance of one-kilometer in every nook and corner of the State so that no house children remain without knowledge of education. He said the Government has constituted a team of school education department officers for identifying those children who are not getting education due to financial constraints or other reasons. He said Government has been bearing about Rs. 3000/- expenses on the education of each student which include free books, uniform and scholarship, besides mid-day meal.

Governor lays foundation of 240 bed Dharamshala for attendants of patients at SMVDIME

KATRA : Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, laid the foundation stone for the Aashray Bhawan (Dharamshala) for attendants of patients at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence at Kakryal near here today.
The 4-storey Dharamshala building, estimated to cost Rs. 4.91 crore, will have 240 bed dormitory accommodation. Spreading over a built up area of 30,000 square feet, this complex will be completed within a period of two years.
The Governor, who is Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, reviewed with Mr. H. L. Maini, Member of the Shrine Board, and CEO the facilities to be provided to the attendants of the patients who would stay for given periods in this Dharamshala. He directed engagement of additional manpower to complete this facility well ahead of the envisaged construction schedule.
Mr. H. L. Maini, Member and Technical Consultant of the Board, Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Additional CEO, and other concerned officers of the Board were among those present on this occasion.
