| Gurezi visits flood hit Gurez areas, assures every possible help | | |
GUREZ: Minster of State for Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various villages of Tehsil Gurez and took stock of the situation arisen due to floods in the area. He also took stock of the measures taken by the administration in providing necessary arrangements for shifting of affected families to safer places.
The Minister was told that due to floods property worth crores has been damaged in Markote, Kanzalwan and Cherwan areas. The water level of Kishanganga river has also risen. Gurez-Bandipora road is cut off from yesterday and fresh snow fall of 3 inches has also been recorded in Bodugam, he was told. The Minister urged the Divisional and District administration to ensure early restoration of the road and directed air lifting of the stranded passengers from Dawar to Bandipora. The Minister was also informed that army has provided full support to the local administration in providing necessary relief to the affected people besides shifting them to safer places. Mr. Gurezi assured the people that every possible help will be provided by the Government to the flood affected families. |
