| LA panel discusses working agenda of Estimates Committee | | |
SRINAGAR: A meeting of the Committee on Estimates (EC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held under the Chairmanship MLA, Dr. Mustafa Kamal here today.
Detailed deliberations were held on working agenda of the Committee and it was decided that it will focus on social sectors including Social Welfare, Education, Forest and CA&PD during this year. The Committee decided that the function of Health and Medical Education Department would be examined in its next meeting.
Legislators, Syed Nayeem Akther Indarabi, Syed Rafiq Ahmad Shah, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Mr. Charanjeet Singh and Mrs. Bimla Luthra gave their valuable suggestions to make the functioning of the Committee result oriented. The Committee suggested that the report should be prepared by the mid of February so that the discussion on the report would be held in the session.
Threadbare discussion was also held on hike in power tariff, implementation of directions and recommendations issued from time to time by the EC during last year and action taken reports received from various departments in this regard. The Chairman directed the Secretary Assembly Mr. M. Ramzan to prepare the list of the departments coming under the purview of this committee. |
