| Gurezi for assessment of losses in flood affected areas of Gurez | | |
SRINAGAR: The Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various flood affected areas including Churwan, Achoora, Markoot, Badwan, Kanzalwan and Bagtore of Tehsil Gurez .
The Minister announced Rs 7.5 lakh out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for construction of protection bunds and other developmental works of Churwan village.
The Minister took serious note of dilapidated condition of Bandipore-Chakwali Road and directed the Hindustan Construction Corporation (HCC) to ensure its repairs on war footing, so that the people do not suffer.
Mr. Gurezi directed the District Development Commissioner, Bandipore to depute a team of concerned officers to flood affected areas of Gurez to assess the damages and submit the report to government for early sanction of compensation and relief.
During the inspection, the Minister was informed that the flood has damaged seedlings of paddy, potato in these villages. He directed the Director Agriculture to distribute seeds among the farmers immediately.
The Minister directed the Chief Engineer PHE, Kashmir to ensure installation of drilling machine and services of water tanker immediately so that the people of the area are benefitted.
A team of tehsil officers accompanied the Minister during his visit. |
