Omar led Govt. committed to develop infrastructure in far flung areas: Sakina
Lays foundation stone of 3kms Sirmarg-Sirbadri road near DH Pora

KULGAM, June 9 : In order to reach out to the people of far flung and remote areas of the State, the Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Ittoo today conducted a whirlwind tour of various areas of Noorabad Constituency to asses and redresses the problems of people living in these areas. During the tour, the Minister visited the areas including Humepatheri, Sarbadri, Humbadri and D K Marg. Among others, the Minister was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Shabnam, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, Block Development Officer, District Social Welfare officer and other Sectoral officers.
Addressing a largely attended gathering at Hume Pathri, near Damhal Hanjipora, the Minister said the people are the real judge to evaluate the performance done on the ground by the present dispensation. They need not to get misled by false propaganda of the opposition for the vested interests, she cautioned. Ms. Sakina said that present Government is committed to provide good governance to the people and added that enactment of Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) and Right to Information Act (RTI) has been promulgated for the same purpose. In addition a grievance cell has been established in CM’s office for prompt redressal of the grievances of the aggrieved people, she maintained. While enumerating various developmental works already executed and undertaken in Noorabad Constituency, Ms. Sakina Itoo said that more projects would be formulated for improving road connectivity, augmenting water supply and health care facilities in the Constituency.
The Minster said that the Government has opened more than two dozen new Degree Colleges in various uncovered areas of the state for providing better and higher education to the aspirants of far flung and remote areas, who due to poor and weak economic conditions cannot afford to go districts or tehsil headquarters, besides various Primary, Middle and high schools have been upgraded under RAMSA. Earlier, Ms. Sakina laid foundation stone of the construction of 3kms Sirmarg–Sirbadri road coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.21lakh. She said that Rs. 15 lakh have already been expended on earth cutting of the road so far. She directed the executing agency for early completion of leveling, earth work and mettling of road so that the locals do not face any inconvenience during the rainy season. She congratulated the people and said that after the completion of the road project, the 50 years dream of the locals would be realized into reality. She said that the present Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is focusing on the infrastructural development particularly in the remote and far flung areas of the State.
Responding to the demands regarding bringing of Pachan Pathri, a beautiful tourist resort covered with snow and green dense forests, on the tourist map, upgradation Hume Patheri Middle School, installation of Water Supply Scheme, establishment of health centre, extension of Sirmarg- Sirbadri road to Pachan Pathri, development of play fields and cricket kits to players, the Minister assured the locals that due consideration would be given on their genuine demands and also on spot issued directions to the accompanied officers to redress the problems of the people of the concerned areas. On the occasion, the Minister announced Rs.2 lakh for the development of Play field subject to provision of land by the locals. She also directed the CA&PD officials to provide ration to the people of Sirbadriat the local place.
