| Master Plan Yusmarg gets cabinet nod: Rather | | Addresses public meeting at Goggipathri | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 15: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today said that Yusmarg will be developed as a major tourist destination as per its Master Plan which has been approved by the State Cabinet recently. He said that a road will be constructed to link the historic Nilnag and Goggipathri with Yusmarg to give boost to the economic activities in the area. Both these places have already brought under the ambit of Yusmarg Development Authority (YDA). Addressing a public meeting at Goggipathri in tehsil Chadoora, Mr. Rather said that in view of tourism emerging as global economic force, the present government has attached much importance to this sector for employment generation and poverty alleviation. He said tourism potential in each and every area of the state including Yusmarg and its surroundings would be optimally exploited to give impetus to socio-economic activities. Mr. Rather reiterated government’s commitment to provide all the basic facilities to the people adding that promises made to the people will be fulfilled as act of faith. He said no stone will be left unturned to come up to the expectations of the people, who have pinned high hopes with the present dispensation. He said that the government is all abreast with the problems of the people and their all genuine grievances are being redressed earnestly. He said uniform justice and equitable development to every area and region are the main concerns of the present government. Mr. Rather said that due to massive and unprecedented developmental initiatives of the present government, the state has reached to an era of socio-economic revolution. He cautioned the people about the nefarious designs of opposition to divide the people on the basis of caste, colour and creed adding that they are un-nerved with the growing popularity of present government. He sought people’s cooperation to defeat all the machinations of the opposition. “They did nothing for the betterment of people during their regime and are now desperately trying to undermine the performance of the present government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah by leashing disinformation campaign and lies”, Mr. Rather said adding that they will never succeed in their designs. Responding to the demands of the people, Mr. Rather announced construction of Goggipathri to Kristwar road adding that Rs 17 crore has been incurred on macadamization of Nagam to Goggipathri road. He said Rs 1.75 crore is being spent on the construction of primary health centre building near Goggipathri. He assured to fulfill all the demands presented in the charter of demands. |
