BUDGAM, : A daylong seminar was organised by the rural development society central Kashmir, which was chaired by Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul who is also the Chairman of Rural Development society. The seminar highlighted the role of rural development society in the life of labourer community. Speaking on the occasion the speaker highlighted the need of various social security schemes, assistance for health and education of labourer community .Stressing on the role of Rural development society he directed office bearers society to work for the benefit of a daily wager, and labourers and articulate their role in taking to poor and illiterate people as the programme through various welfare programmes like UDAAN, HIMAYAT and recently launched UMEED. He also highlighted the need to safeguard the interests of artisan community be it weaver, handicraft or paper Mache worker. MLC, Ali Mohammad Dar who was also present on the occasion stressed the need and importance of labourer community in any society and said that world’s largest revolutions were brought about by labourers and highlighted the role of Rural Development society in providing safety cover to labourers in case of any eventuality. Mohammad Amin Tika general secretary JKRDS, Bashir Ahmad Bashir ,President JKRDS, district chairman of RDS from all districts of the valley were also present and put forward their demands like reconstitution of the labour board ,interest free ,loans for labourers and establishment of skill development institutes for upgrading skills of labourers. District Social welfare officer, Riyaz Ahamd Beigh was presented a certificate and token of merit by the society to his keen interest in the welfare of labourer community. |
