| Country can never have two 'pradhans': Modi | | | Madhopur , June 23 : Taking a jibe at prime minister Manmohan Singh and presence of two power centers in UPA government, Gujrat Chief Minister Narendera Modi Sunday said that there can never be two pradhans in a country. Modi urged the people to oust the "autocratic" Congress government and took jibes at both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and said, "We need to free nation of the two Pradhans." After his coronation as chief of BJP's election campaign committee, Modi, the crowd puller addressed his first rally in Madhopur in Punjab on Sunday where he asked Prime Minister that what did he do after Sarabjit's death? "After 60yrs of his sacrifice ((Dr Shyama Prasad Mukharji) we can see two heads working at the centre," he said while targeting the Congress. "The country is not in the safe hands of the ruling party. The future of the people of this country is not secure in the hands of the Congress." "I want to ask PM what you did after Sarbjeet was murdered and our soldiers were beheaded," he asked. Modi accused the Congress of not giving Mukharji enough credit as a martyr. The rally was held to mark the 60th death anniversary of Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukharji in this town along the Punjab-Jammu and Kashmir border. Modi also touched the issue of Kashmiri Pandits in his speech by saying, "If in 2004 Vajpayee government would have been formed, rights of Kashmiri Pandits would have been protected." "If Vajpayee's government had returned to power Kashmiri Pandits would have got justice, Kashmiris would have been in step with other Indians," he said. "Atal Bihari Vajpayee played a great role in addressing the Kashmir issue. If NDA would have formed government in 2004 the Kashmir issue would have been resolved." |
