| Shabir visits hospitals; imposes fine on Med Supdtt, officials | | | ET PLUS REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 24: Expressing dismay over the noncompliance of dress code among the staff of Government Maternity Hospital (MH) Sanat Nagar, besides poor sanitation in and around the hospital, the Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today during his surprise visit to the hospital directed for imposing fine of Rs. 1000 on the Medical Superintendent of the hospital. He also instructed for seeking explanation from the doctors and para-medicos who do not abide by the dress code. Later, the Minister also paid surprise visit to Sub-District Hospital Pampore and directed for imposing fine of Rs. 500 each on Staff Nurse and hospital electrician for improper sanitation and upkeep of electric works in wards. Director, Health Services Kashmir, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Chief Medical Officer Pulwama also accompanied the Minister. Shabir went round each section of these hospitals and took stock of the functioning. He expressed displeasure over the non-functioning of maternity section at Sanat Nagar hospital. The Minister interacted with the patients and their attendants and inquired about the medicare facilities being provided to them in these hospitals. The Minister also inspected pace of progress of under execution Sub-District Hospital Complex Pampore and directed concerned executing agency to complete it by September. Shabir was apprised that construction work of this hospital complex was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 5.96 crore and so far an amount of Rs. 5. 60 crore have been expended on its execution and work is at final stage. |
