Et Plus Report

Srinagar, June 24, CNS: National Youth Corps (NYC) volunteers on Monday staged protest at Press Enclave Srinagar in favour of their long pending demands which according to protestors are quite genuine, transparent and legitimate. The NYC volunteers assembled at Press Enclave and raised slogans in favour of their demands. They were carrying placards and banners that depicted numerous slogans like, 'we want justice', 'regularization is our right' and so on. The protestors said that State Government had assured them that they will be adjusted at a particular time, however nothing was done in this regard. "We appeal Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to look into the matter and address our issue at an earliest," they said adding that if nothing will be done, then they have no option but to come on roads along with their families Meanwhile the NYC volunteers in Bandipora observed hunger strike at Gulshan Chowk, and when the volunteers started a march, police swung into action and foiled their march.
