| JKDIT organizes workshop on usage of Digital Signature certificates at Kargil | | | ET Plus Report
KARGIL, June 24 : The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information Technology (JKDIT) organised a workshop on usage and Applications of Digital Signature Certificates at Kargil. Fida Hussain, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC-Kargil, chaired the event and expressed his concern for digital connectivity of citizen of Kargil with rest of the country, who are otherwise isolated due to difficult geographical terrain. He welcomed the initiative of Information Technology Department, J&K and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, for initiating technology awareness in the region and expressed his gratitude to the Minister of IT Department, Feroze Khan and Commissioner Secretary IT, Bipul Pathak for considering Kargil as a first location to commence this awareness workshop. Munish Chandan, Senior Consultant, IT Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir appraised the participants about the various e-Governance initiatives under National e-Governance Plan of Government of India along with other State initiatives and emphasized the need of using Digital Signature Certificates for secure workflow management. He further added that a series of such workshops shall be organized for Jammu and Kashmir Region also. M Sadashiv Puri, Alliance Partner and Local Registration Authority of (n) code solutions explained the Public Key Infrastructure technology and the legal requirements and implications of Digital Signature Certificates. Around 75 Digital Signature Certificates will be distributed to these participants. |
