Strict implementation of DDB decisions vital for effective development: Tara Chand
Reasi gets Rs 77. 43 cr annual plan for current year

REASI: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today stressed the need for strict implementation of all decisions taken in the annual District Development Board (DDB) meetings saying it was imperative for need based and effective development of the respective areas.
Deputy Chief Minister said this while chairing the Reasi District Development Board meeting, whereat he approved Rs 77.43 crore annual plan for the district.
It was informed in the meeting that Reasi district has recorded 98.78% expenditure against the annual plan allocation for the year 2012-13 till March end.
The plan outlay approved included capital outlay of Rs 53.62 crore and Rs 28.80 crore as revenue component.
Minister of state for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Member Parliament (MP) Ch Lal Singh, MLAs Abdul Gani Malik, Baldev Raj Sharma, MLCs Jugal Kishore and Sham Lal Bhagat, besides heads of various departments were present in the meeting.
Reviewing sector wise physical & financial achievements, the Deputy Chief Minister sought details about status of implementation of decisions taken at the last board meeting. He asked the district administration to implement the DDB decisions in letter and spirit as the same are related to the core public issues and their immediate needs.
Exhorting for concerted efforts to meet the set targets with optimum utilization of funds under each sector, Tara Chand called upon the officers to pay special attention towards under developed and backward areas. He said development and provision of better amenities in bad pockets was the priority of the present government. He asked the officers to put sincere efforts while framing new projects pertaining to their departments so as to these can produce desires results on the ground.
Earlier, Giving brief account of financial and physical achievements of projects being executed under various state & centrally sponsored schemes in the district, District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that out of total approved outlay of Rs 75.26 crore, the district recorded an expenditure of Rs 65.86 crore during previous year.
The DDC Reasi further informed that about Rs 26.27 crore were spend on education sector with the opening of 17 primary schools, up-gradation of 18 primary schools to Middle Standard under SSA, besides up-gradation of 13 Middle schools to high school level under RAMSA.
An amount of Rs 48.42 crore was spend under MGNREGA out of total outlay of Rs 48.43 crore, while 7043 works were taken up out of which 483 were completed generating Rs 22.01 lakh mandays,
The meeting was apprised that work on 50 bedded Community Health Centre Mahore, Polytechnic Reasi and PMGSY Roads is on full swing and will be completed soon.
For development of tourism in Ransoo under STF, about Rs 3.98 crore has been spent against the estimated cost of Rs 10.00 crore.
The meeting was further apprised that Rs 3.11 crore were spent on providing safe drinking water to uncovered and newly developed localities in district , while Rs 28.75 lakh was spent on improvement of power infrastructure. Under public works Rs 15.14 crore were spend on construction of various projects.
Speaking on the occasion, MP, Ch Lal Singh appreciated the district administration for impressive achievements recorded in the execution of various projects and hoped that it would continue to work with same spirit.
The legislators present projected various development demands of their respective constituencies, including macadamization of roads, repair and renovation of Water Supply Schemes, creation of new Niabats, early completion of ongoing roads, new health centres, up-gradation of high schools, creation of new power stations and opening of more PDS depots.
Later, various deputations called on the Dy CM at Reasi and apprised him of their demands and problems.
Tara Chand assured the deputationists that all issues raised by them would be looked into for necessary action.
