| Progress under centrally sponsored schemes reviewed, annual plan approved | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 23 : To review the progress achieved under centrally sponsored schemes like ATMA, National Bamboo Mission (NBM), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) and Technology Mission for the year 2012-13 and finalization of works programme of current financial year, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mrs, Yasha Mudgal convened a meeting of members of District Level Co-ordination Committee of the schemes. Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Ajay Singh Jamwal, Joint Director (P&S), Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mr. Pawan Parihar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mr. K.S Sambyal, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Mr. Ashok Gupta, Chief Horticulture Officer, Scientist SKUST , Dr. Ravinder Singh and Sectoral heads of Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Fisheries, Irrigation and Floriculture were present in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the centrally sponsored Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna(RKVY) provides an ample scope for boosting Agriculture and allied sectors in the district. The DDC emphasized that to achieve better growth in Agriculture sector according to the area, the plan envisages procurement and distribution of local germplasm like elephant garlic, local cucumber, rajmash and white bitergourd. She also called upon the officers to aware and motivate the farmers for setting up of Agribusiness Centers, irrigation infrastructure and mushroom units for which incentives would be provided by the departments under the centrally sponsored schemes. The DDC laid special stress upon the officers of Agriculture to prepare a detail plan report for developing a rose cultivation unit in the district so that the farmers of the area should be encouraged for adopting the different farming culture. A comprehensive District Agriculture Plan for the year 2013-14 of Agriculture and allied sectors amounting to Rs.214.97 Lacs was finalised in the meeting which mainly include Rs. 91.06 lacs under ATMA , Rs. 57.05 lacs under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) and a tune of Rs.5.05 Lacs was kept under National Bamboo Mission Scheme. Besides, The DDC also approved the Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEHS) Annual Action Plan of Horticulture at a tune of Rs. 68.637 lacs, besides Rs 12.395 lacs for Agriculture sector for the current fiscal. The DDC stressed for better implementation of the said comprehensive plan by covering all the key elements for boosting development of agriculture and allied sectors through introduction of innovative programmes in the district. |
