| I - Day arrangements for Reasi, Rajouri discussed | | | Early Times Report
REASI, July 23 : The arrangements for Independence Day celebration function were discussed for Rajouri and Reasi districts by the respective administrations. Deputy commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired a meeting of the line departments and discussed the arrangements for the I-Day function. Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Singh Tara, SSP Reasi Raghubir Singh, ACR Reasi Nawab Din, CPO Janak Raj and district officers of all departments were present in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held in the premise of Reasi stadium, where the chief guest would unfurl the national flag followed by March past by the contingents drawn from District police, NCC and students of various schools. The school children would also present cultural programmes depicting rich cultural heritage of state and country. Different Committees were constituted to oversee the arrangements for cultural programme, reception, sitting arrangement etc. Discussions were also held regarding arrangements of seating, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first aid, deployment of fire tenders etc. A well equipped ambulance with a team of doctors was also asked to be made available on the day. Meanwhile, a meeting to discuss and decide the arrangements for celebration of I-Day 2013 was held at Rajouri under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, F.C. Bhagat. The District and Sectoral Officers and officers from Police Department, heads of Government/ private educational institutions participated in the meeting. The meeting decided to hold the function at District Police Line (DPL) Rajouri as per past practice where all arrangements for flag hoisting by the chief guest are being made. Flag hoisting will be followed by March past by the Contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Auxiliary Police, NCC and Government/private educational institutions. The meeting also discussed the arrangements for holding a cultural programme on the occasion with the involvement of government and private schools. |
