SRINAGAR, Aug 9: Nine persons were died and five others injured critically after a local sumo turned turtle and skidded off the road and fell into a deep George about 200 meters deep near Boniyar in district Baramulla in North Kashmir. Reports said that an overloaded Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05B-4420 while on its way to Barnath village from Boniyar turned turtle at Hapatnallah area as the driver lost his control over the steering. The vehicle overturned and fell into about 200 meters deep resulting in on spot death of six persons and injuring 9 others. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment, however three seriously wounded persons succumbed to their injuries. The deceased persons were identified as Abdul Hameed Geelani, Mushtaq Ahmad Geelani, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Qayoom Peer, Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Juma Kala, Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and Gulam Hasan Sheikh. Late in the afternoon, 4 injured persons identified as Ali Mohammad Lone, Basharat Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah and Fareed Ahmad Sood referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment. Doctors operating upon injured persons in the SKIMS said that their condition is deteriorating.Meanwhile, police have registered a case and starts further investigations in this regard. |
