Jammu, Aug 9: Following communal clashes in Kishtwar where curfew had to be clamped to control the situation on Friday, district authorities decided to suspend ongoing Machail yatra for three days. Official sources said, the ongoing Machail yatra has been suspended for three days or till the normalcy returned to the district Kishtwar.
"About two thousand yatries today were directed to return to Jammu from Kishtwar where situation become tense following communal clashes, sources said, further adding, "The pilgrims were escorted by the police."
Meanwhile sources said that some yatries have camped in Udhampur hoping for normalcy to return soon so that they may proceed to Kishtwar for the holy pilgrimage. |
