| Whopping cash prize for medal in Volleyball | | |

JAMMU, August 09: Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) has announced a whopping Rs 15 lakh cash award for the Indian junior men's team for winning a medal in the upcoming FIVB Men's U-21 Junior World Championship scheduled to be held at Turkey from August 22 to September one.
This was disclosed by vice president of the VFI, Kuldeep Magotra while sharing the initiatives taken by the Federation for the promotion the game at the international level.
He said, "Besides Rs 15 lakh to the junior team, the Federation has also announced an equal award for the men's team. The men senior team has been promised the cash prize if they are qualified in forthcoming event of Asian Zonal Final Round Qualification Tournament scheduled to be held at Zhenzhou in China from September 20 to September 22."
The awards have been announced by president of the Federation, Chaudhary Avdhesh Kumar in a meeting held to boost the teams heading for the international events.
Magotra further said that similar steps are under consideration to encourage those practicing the game in the state. |
