Early Times Report
JAMMU, August 09: The State Sports Council has failed in its attempt to adjust those Selection Grade coaches, junior coaches and instructors, who have been recalled from their administrative positions to train the youth at various coaching centres of the state. The order issued on July 18 by the Secretary, State Sports Council has very clearly stated that all the coaches and instructors shall handover the charge to their respective successors within three days and report to the Incharge Sports Officers for coaching assignments. The order, issued 20 days ago, further asked for adjustment of these coaches at the training centres within a week's time, but nothing has been done so far in this regard. "The order has further weakens the administrative set up of the State Sports Council at the district level. Giving additional charges to already busy Sports Officers would not serve the purpose. Such orders aim at victimisation of the technical staff," a senior coach of the State Sports Council told SAN. It may be recalled here that the State Sports Council, through an order issued on July 18, relieved those Selection Grade coaches and Instructors from additional charges of Incharge Managers to devote themselves exclusively for the coaching. These coaches were holding the additional charge of Manager at Kathua, RS Pura, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, KK Hakhu Stadium, Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, GGM Science College and Shastri Nagar play field as also in Bandipore, Anantnag, Pulwama and Gani Memorial Stadium in Srinagar. On being contacted, Sports Officer (Jammu) of the State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma said, "We are in the process of assigning the duties to the coaches keeping in view the popularity of the game in different parts of the state." |
