JAMMU, Aug 9: State unit of Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC) today observed August Kranti Din to pay homage to those who laid down their lives for freedom struggle. Gourav Kapoor state president NYC said youth belonging to all sections of the society should get together at a single platform to fight against the disruptive forces who are being exploited by various political parties and communal organizations. He said NCP has emerged as a most secular party in the country in a small period and also feel proud to work under a veteran, honest and experienced state President Thakur Randhir Singh. Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP chief J&K state while addressing the impressive gathering of youth said we have been observing the day to pay homage to and in memory of those who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle of our country. Singh said the great sacrifices of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Netaji Subhash Chander Bose and many more revolutionaries inspired by the father of the nation Mahatama Gandhi to fight against British rule who ruled more than 100 countries and had to leave India because of sacrifices of many freedom fighters. Those who spoke on the occasion included Satpal Sharma, Bansi Lal Sodhi, Col Amar Singh, Dr P D Shastri ,Tariq Nar, General Secy NYC, Ashok Singh, Gulab Chand Bhagat, Saddat Doolwal, Shahnawaz Ahanger, Bodh Raj Salaria and Jaswant Singh Rakwal. |
