| Congress committed for cause of displaced persons of 1965, '71: Verma | | | Et Report
Jammu, Aug 9: Vice chairman J&K OBC Advisory Board Kuldeep Verma while addressing a meeting at Khour today said that Congress is committed for the cause of the displaced person of 1965 and 1971 and one time settlement of 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees. He said their genuine demand have been brought to the notice of prime minister of India Manmohan and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi when delegation of Congress called on her in New Delhi. JKPCC president Prof Saif-ud-din-Soz and Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma was also present. Verma also said that Congress delegation raised demand of compensation to farmer whose land falls under mining field and beyond fencing at border and said the Congress is pursuing their case with concerned authorities. Verma said Congress stands for unity of the state and communal harmony. During the meeting locals raised demand of regular supply of electricity and immediate repair of road damage due to heavy rain in the area to which Vice Chairman J&K OBC Advisory Board assured that he will take up the issues with concerned authorities. Among those who spoke in this meeting included Shamsher Singh (Sarpanch Gigrial), Swarn Singh (Sarpanch Pallanwala) Lal Chand Sharma( Sarpanch Panjtoot) Om parkash Sharma (Sarpach Naryana) Nikku Ram Bhagat ( Sarpanch Pahariwala) and Niku Ram Sharma ( Sarpanch Upper Pallanwala) and others. |
