| Prof Avinash meets VC JU, demands release of dues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28 : President J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu Wing), Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, called on Prof MP Singh Isher, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu and demanded immediate release of dues to the participants of various courses conducted by the Academic Staff College of the University. It is pertinent to mention that TA/DA dues of a number of participants are pending since March 2012. President CTA also demanded that the remuneration bills for various university assignments should be released without any further delay, since adequate funds have been earmarked & released for the same purpose. Dr Avinash Gupta also urged the Vice Chancellor to follow up the issues of enhancement of remuneration rates for university assignments and reservation for wards of College teachers in University admissions, which already stood taken up in the University Council meetings. The Vice Chancellor assured CTA that he was personally monitoring these issues. It was also pointed out to the university authorities to communicate the procedure of TDS for various university assignments. The Vice Chancellor also directed the Controller of Examinations to convey the right interpretation of the University Council resolution on the parity in evaluation of answer scripts to the accounts branch of the university. The association also demanded that College teachers should be allowed as research guides, especially those teachers who already have Minor and Major research projects to their credit. It was also demanded to relax research guidance norm for College teachers for direct recruitment of teaching faculty in the University. General Secretary of the Association, Dr Satesh Bhan was also present in the meeting with the Vice Chancellor. |
