| Peaceful Janamashtami celebrations a slap for divisive forces | | | ET Report JAMMU, Aug 28: People who donot want peace in Jammu and Kashmir and are hell bent upon polarizing the people on communal lines will not be happy today when Janamashtami passed on peacefully in entire state including the riots hit Kishtwar. The Janamashtami was even celebrated in Kashmir by few Kashmiri Pandit people who are staying back in the Valley despite the mass exodus of community more 24 years back. Culmination of celebrations of Janamashtami peacefully is a string statement for those anti-social and anti-national elements whose politics depend on dividing people on communal lines and play with the lives of people in any part of the state. After the unfortunate incident of Kishtwar, these people were happy that they will get the chance to divide people and were waiting till Janamashtami to do their job. But people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown tremendous character by not falling prey to these elements, from either community, and celebrated this important religious event of Hindus with great fervour. Sources said that in Kishtwar alone, few people were preparing to again polarize people at a time when Shobha yatra was being taken out. But the district administration with the help of police managed to tighten on such elements and didn't allow them implement their criminal designs. People from both communities have realized that it is better to maintain and strengthen the communal harmony and not fell prey to communal elements. Thus both communities respected this cause as a result of which Muslims stayed back in their homes and Hindus were allowed to take out the yatra without any fear. The time has come when secular forces should come forward and don't allow communal forces, whether separatists of Valley or right wing people of Jammu, so that no communal clashes happen and people live peacefully. |
