| CPI demands compensation for rains, flood affected people | | | Jammu, Aug 28 : Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded adequate compensation for weaker section of society, whose property got damaged due recent rains and flash flood. According to press release, CPI senior leader, Com Rakesh Sharma today voiced his concern over incalculable damage done to houses belonging to weaker section of the society in villages Tara Chak, Paskal, Jagatu Chak of Bishnah and R.S. Pura Tehsils and other areas of Jammu region. He said, "These houses suffered great damage due to constant torrential rains that hit the Jammu region recently. As a result, the people of these areas are not in a position to lead a proper way of life." Com Rakesh urged the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to constitute a team of revenue officials in order to ascertain the damage caused to the houses of poor people of Jammu especially of RS Pura and Bishnah Tehsils.In the meantime, Com Rakesh Sharma has appealed to Divisional Commissioner Jammu to immediately provide tents and other material including ration and food grains, so that these poor and helpless people do not suffer any more due to official apathy. He warned the authorities of dire consequence if they fail to take proper stock of the situation. He was accompanied by Com R K Sudan, Com Chander Bhushan, Com Rajpal and Com Vijay Kumar. |
