NEK RAM SHARMA: The Municipal Council is an institution of local government of people from which people can expect the solution of local problems but the absence of street lights, pot holed streets and broken drainage in Ward 2, the where the traffic movement is abundant becomes prone to accidents. "Besides this the reptiles and other insects can also be seen moving freely, he said while requesting to the council to come forward to repair the broken drainage covers and make proper street lightening in the area.
Expressing serious concerns over the apathy of the concerned authorities towards the sanitation system in the area, Ajay Jandyal : of Ward-2 urged the municipal council please don't force us to come on street for the demand for the construction of depleted drainage system which is exposed resulting into death traps particularly in absence of the street lights. "However exuding faith in present incumbent i.e. Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Kathua, he said that residents are hoping that the concerned authorities will soon get the repair works done to check the possibilities of the probable accidents because of open manholes .
